Working in partnership is the best way to make a difference in the lives of children and young people, and to contribute holistically to the local community. Whether our relationship with other agencies is based on
networking, information-sharing, signposting, delivering programmes, receiving funding or sharing resources, our partners are integral to our success. One example of this is our role in the Swiss Cottage Festival, our involvement resulting in last year’s theme of ‘Children Go Free’. Working with other providers on the festival committee, we put together an event for community cohesion, including more than 50 volunteers and staff in an event attended by over 2,000 local residents.
As well as hands-on partnership work, the Winchester Project is approached as a key partner in our locality and as such is part of conversations ranging from anti-social behaviour and work with young people, to upcoming developments to local consultations and community events.
Belsize & Swiss Cottage Safer Neighbourhoods Teams
We have a close working relationship with the Safer Neighbourhood Teams, as we look to foster good
relationships between young people, police and the wider community through positive engagement.
Partnership projects to date include ‘Stop & Search’, ‘Street Safe: Project Knife Crime’ and a ‘Dispersal Zone Forum’.
London Borough of Camden
As a voluntary sector charity, we believe it is important to work closely with the statutory sector to deliver
high quality youthwork services and contribute to the borough-wide strategy for work with children and young people. As a commissioned and project-funded provision, we value highly our relationship with the London Borough of Camden.
Primary & Secondary Schools
The Winchester Project works closely with local primary and secondary schools, in order to better
understand the needs of and identify children and young people who may need additional support. Play
works with Holy Trinity and George Elliot primary schools, whilst Youth works with Haverstock School.
Swiss Cottage Area Partnership
SCAP is a network of local agencies, from the statutory, private and voluntary sectors, bringing together entities as diverse as the library, leisure centre, housing department, tenants and residents associations and many others. SCAP, which has a focus on the Swiss Cottage Neighbourhood Renewal Area and Dispersal Zone, provides a forum for sharing information, developing new work and ensuring that local people, groups and organisations are kept informed and have a voice in the democratic process.
